PRESS RELEASE

NapaNet to Install First High-Speed Internet Kiosks in Napa County

The Napa Airport/ Bridgford Flying Services, Best Western Inn at the Vines and the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce and the Napa, Sonoma Visitors Center in American Canyon will be the first locations to provide high-speed Internet access to their visitors in the Napa Valley. The kiosks will offer a complete Communications Center to the general public and visitors, an extra service amenity to those that bring their laptop or PDA on the road. Within the facility, an always-on "Hot Spot" will be activated for users with devices already equipped with wireless capabilities. Kiosk users can download e-mail, surf the web, and use the voice over IP functions. Those in need of these e-communications without a portable device may use the built-in PC integral to the Kiosk. The units will accept all major credit cards or US currency ($1, 5 or 20 dollar bills). A variety of languages can be selected for non-English speaking users.

"The "Hot-Spot" will not be an expense to the site owner, but a shared revenue stream through a combination of usage fees and advertising", according to John Moore, Director of Business Development for Napanet, Kiosks, in time will become as commonplace as bank ATM units, "Hot Spots" too. But today these are the first in Napa County". For more information contact: John Moore at Napanet, 707.257.2826, jcmoore@napanet.net

High-speed Internet Connectivity

Paying for Internet Bandwidth you don't need? Is wireless an option?
Dependable, expeditious Internet access is the gateway to information...

T1 is expensive if under used. Caught between fringe coverage areas for DSL service out of TELCO central offices in Napa and Vallejo many local businesses are forced into T1 service at expensive prices and bandwidth beyond their needs. Depending on location, but certainly in the South County Business Parks and American Canyon, T1 or Dial up have been the choices for internet access. At the request of a group of Napa Valley Economic Development Corporation business internet users, NVEDC initiated a meeting last November to encourage and discover alternatives and solutions. We are proud to announce that NapaNet has stepped up to the plate and can now offer high-speed Wireless internet access options approaching and surpassing DSL speeds at value pricing arrangements.

New ownership and management have transformed the low-key ISP (Internet Service Provider) to a dynamic WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) offering unique internet solutions. The company and equipment are located in Napa. NapaNet expects their high-speed wireless internet access service to advance the local economy and change the way people work in the Napa Valley. Home-based business and telecommuting will become a reality for many.

New services will include:

  1. Wireless, fixed high-speed internet access for business or residence : Connect your computer or existing network to a high-speed wireless internet connection. Available now!
